Entertainment Tonight’s “Thor: Ragnarok” On Set Visit

Chris Hemsworth is ready to take on the Incredible Hulk.

The Thor: Ragnarok star took ET on-set of his latest Marvel movie, filming in Australia, where he confessed that an epic battle between the titular character and the angry green hero (played by Mark Ruffalo) is what he’s looking forward to the most.

“Before [the fight] was written in the script, [the movie] was centered around it,” the 34-year-old actor explained. “And I thought, ‘Whoa I’m in!’”

During the visit, Hemsworth also explained why Thor lost his long, golden locks in the upcoming film — a decision he admits was made due to wardrobe rather than the storyline.

“He does get a hair cut,” the Australia native shared. “There’s no huge explanation, really. It’s just me going, ‘I don’t wanna wear the wig every day.’ It takes 2 hours to put on!”

“We kind of just run with the creative license there,” he added. “Give you a different look, you know?”

Chris Discusses the Impersonal Nature of the ‘Avengers’ Films

Chris Hemsworth has been bringing Thor to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2011 and with Thor: Ragnarok headed to theaters in November and the third and fourth Avengers installments on the horizon, Hemsworth is opening up about his one critique about filming.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Hemsworth revealed making the Avengers films has been an impersonal experience, largely because of the number of characters in the films. This impersonal nature of making the Avengers films made the experience of getting one-on-one screen time with Mark Ruffalo who plays Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok a more enjoyable situation for Hemsworth. The two characters had previously had very few interactions on screen, giving Hemsworth and Ruffalo a chance to really dig into their relationship.

“The Avengers stuff is hard because it’s not very personal. There’s seven of you in a room and you have to get across all this information that feels expositional. So it’s hard to really have a dynamic. Obviously Tony and Cap have a lot of one-on-one screen time.

I’d always felt like I don’t have that as much, and that’s when you get to really have fun. As I said, we just went for it in this, and there’s a nice kind of love-hate relationship there. A lovely kind of pairing. Very early on I was saying, “Let’s do something like Butch and Sundance and pair ‘em up and go on a road trip. There’s elements of that in there, too.”

Chris Is as Confused About the Infinity Stones as Fans Are

The Infinity Stones have become very important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the build up to Avengers: Infinity War, but fans aren’t alone in their confusion about the all-important cosmic remnants. Thor: Ragnarok star Chris Hemsworth doesn’t get it, either.

During a set visit the actor said that while Thor: Ragnarok connects to Avengers: Infinity War, they didn’t want to get too stuck dealing with the Infinity Stones.

“We didn’t wanna get bogged down in Infinity Stones and da-da-da-da, because I don’t even understand that stuff a lot of the time,” Hemsworth said.

“Without giving anything away [Thor: Ragnarok] definitely bleeds nicely into [Avengers: Infinity War,] as they all tend to do,” Hemsworth explained. “This being called Ragnarok, which everyone knows what that means, it obviously is gonna effect the larger universe.”

Hemsworth not having a full understanding of the Infinity Stones is humorous largely because of how involved with trying to understand them Thor is. At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor left Earth to find out more about the mysterious objects of Thanos’ desire. However, even with Hemsworth being confused about the Stones, the events of Thor: Ragnarok will be very important to the next Avengers installment even though the actor stops short of revealing if we’ll see the Soul Stone anytime soon. W Magazine (October 2017) Cover Shot

Chris is featured in the October 2017 issue of W Magazine’s ‘the royals’ feature.

When speaking to the publication, Chris said, “My first audition was for some random sort of commercial. I remember walking in and having to tell them about myself, and none of it was very interesting because I never got those jobs. My first regular acting gig was on a soap opera called Home and Away. I did that for three and a half years, and I went through every melodramatic tragedy that one can go through: plane crashes, fires, robberies, landslides. I had three different kids with three different women. And my character was 19 for three years. I never had a birthday. Never aged.”

Scans will be added shortly. Head over to the gallery to view the gorgeous cover shot.

Chris Is In Negotiations to Star in “Bad Times at the El Royale”

Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges are in negotiations to star in the Fox thriller Bad Times at the El Royale, with Drew Goddard directing from his own script.

Should the deals close, the actors would be the first attached to the project, which is expected to begin shooting early next year. Fox has kept details about “Bad Times” under wraps other than it being set in the 196os at a dilapidated hotel in California’s Lake Tahoe region. Bridges would play a down-on-his-luck priest.

Goddard is also set to produce the movie. He received an Academy Award nomination last year for best adapted screenplay for The Martian, which was adapted from the Andy Weir novel. (Source)
