Which “Avengers: Infinity War” Storyline is Anthony Russo Most Excited For?

Judging from the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, there is a metric-ton to be excited about. There is so much going on in the footage, that it’s hard to pick just one moment that stands out. Well, what about the creators of the film? What’s their favorite part of the movie? It turns out, director Anthony Russo has his pick. Speaking to Comicbook.com, the Avengers: Infinity War co-director reveals that he is on team Thor:

“I’m going to pick Thor because Thor, we’re picking up his story from the end of Thor: Ragnarok and at the end of that film as any fan would know his home planet of Asgard is destroyed, and so the character is in new territory so to speak, because his past has been torn away from him to a degree.”

Anthony also spoke about Thor’s evolution in the movie, stating that: “I think it’s very similar to Captain America’s situation when we picked up his story in Winter Solider when Joe and I came on to do our first movie for Marvel. Cap was in a place where we were very much catching him up in the modern world and seeing what that meant to him, and figuring out how you move a character that far forward and that far away from where they started back during the 40s, so I think in Thor we have similar opportunities with that character in this movie is that he’s going through a radical transformation and he’s moving forward in a way where he can never go back, and that’s always a fun place to be with a character as a storyteller.”

If you watched the Avengers: Infinity War trailer multiple times to catch all the details — Cap’s beard! Wakanda! Chris Is as Confused About the Infinity Stones as Fans Are

The Infinity Stones have become very important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the build up to Avengers: Infinity War, but fans aren’t alone in their confusion about the all-important cosmic remnants. Thor: Ragnarok star Chris Hemsworth doesn’t get it, either.

During a set visit the actor said that while Thor: Ragnarok connects to Avengers: Infinity War, they didn’t want to get too stuck dealing with the Infinity Stones.

“We didn’t wanna get bogged down in Infinity Stones and da-da-da-da, because I don’t even understand that stuff a lot of the time,” Hemsworth said.

“Without giving anything away [Thor: Ragnarok] definitely bleeds nicely into [Avengers: Infinity War,] as they all tend to do,” Hemsworth explained. “This being called Ragnarok, which everyone knows what that means, it obviously is gonna effect the larger universe.”

Hemsworth not having a full understanding of the Infinity Stones is humorous largely because of how involved with trying to understand them Thor is. At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor left Earth to find out more about the mysterious objects of Thanos’ desire. However, even with Hemsworth being confused about the Stones, the events of Thor: Ragnarok will be very important to the next Avengers installment even though the actor stops short of revealing if we’ll see the Soul Stone anytime soon. “Thor: Ragnarok” Leads Social Media Buzz Thanks to Comic-Con

Disney-Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok dominated social media buzz with an impressive 264,000 new conversations last week, according to media-measurement firm ComScore and its PreAct service.

Marvel released a new full trailer featuring both Thor and Hulk at the Marvel showcase at San Diego Comic-Con on July 22. Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release on November 3rd.

“Hunt for the Wilderpeople” helmer Taika Waititi directed the third standalone Thor movie, which seems to be quirkier and more offbeat than the first two, and is already drawing comparisons to “Guardians of the Galaxy.” “Ragnarok” stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleton, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban, and Anthony Hopkins.

Disney-Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War generated 90,000 new conversations following the unveiling of a new poster at the Marvel showcase at Comic-Con on July 22, which fans have recorded on their phones and leaked the footage. “Avengers: Infinity War” opens May 18, 2018. (Source)

San Diego Comic-Con 2017: What to Expect

It’s that time of year when the biggest studios bring actors, directors and writers from their most anticipated blockbusters to tens of thousands of fans at San Diego Comic-Con.

None are as prominent as Marvel Studios. Marvel Entertainment, in general, has always dominated SDCC, but it’s the company’s studio division that has reinvigorated fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This year should be the same.

The question is what Marvel Studios plans to bring to SDCC. Speculation?

The Avengers: Infinity War | D23 attendees saw the first Infinity War trailer, and while there’s a very good chance it will be shown again to Hall H attendees at SDCC, don’t expect it to go online anytime soon. Marvel is notorious for not publishing its trailers online, instead keeping them exclusive to conventions.

Thor: Ragnarok | Don’t expect Ragnarok to take up much of Marvel’s panel as the release is right around the corner, so it doesn’t need as much hyping up as other projects. However, there will be a “Thor: Ragnarok” SDCC presence — Tom Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and maybe even Jeff Goldblum will all be on hand.

Fans can also expect Captain Marvel, Black Panther and possibly Antman and the Wasp goodies.
