Chris Shows Off His ‘Katniss Everdeen’

And a hearty welcome to Hollywood Crush’s first-ever Dystopian Week! For the next five days we’ll be taking a look at all things futuristic and bleak in YA literature. (It’ll be much more fun than it sounds…promise!) We wanted to kick the week off on a high (and very hot) note, so without further ado, we bring you this adorable clip from Thor star Chris Hemsworth.

Chris Hemsworth!?! you may be asking. What does he have to do with sticking it to the man? WELL, you may recall that last month the Aussie actor divulged that he was younger brother Liam’s line-reading partner while he practiced for his Hunger Games audition (meaning Chris played Katniss to Liam’s Gale).

When we caught up with Chris recently to chat about his upcoming flick, we just had to see his Katniss up close and personal. We crafted a short script from the opening moments of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian trilogy (the scene in which Katniss and childhood friend Gale go hunting) and asked Chris to give it a read—in character, of course.

Press play on the clip below to watch Chris and our own Josh Horowitz reenact the “Hunger Games” scene. You won’t be disappointed. (Source)

Remember Little Darth? Meet Little Thor.

Sure, the film stars an Oscar winner (Natalie Portman) and features a titular hero who isn’t averse to going shirtless (Chris Hemsworth), but what if that isn’t enough to get you in the theater?

Enter Little Thor.

In this Thor-sponsored spoof of the popular Volkswagen “The Force” commercial, Little Thor is having the same issues the wee Dark Lord encountered. He just can’t seem to wield the power of his trusty hammer. What’s a superhero to do when his mojo seems to have been all but zapped? Wait for dad and his shiny new car to come home, naturally. Only this time, in a nice twist, it looks like more than just the remote-controlled locks were activated.

So who’s the mightiest marketer of them all? Have to say, this definitely got us even more excited for the movie to finally hit theaters. Take a look at the “Little Thor” ad below. (Source)

Chris Hemsworth as Katniss Everdeen?

While talking up Thor with MTV News, Chris Hemsworth made an admission that will make your imagination explode. To help his brother Liam audition for the role of Gale in The Hunger Games, he ran lines with him … reading the part of the heroine, Katniss Everdeen.

Obviously, Chris was an asset since Liam got the part. Perhaps director Gary Ross wants to rethink hiring Jennifer Lawrence for the part when there’s another good-looking blonde who knows the lines? (Source)
