The Avengers did it again! Within a 24 hour time period the latest and greatest Avengers trailer was viewed on iTunes 13.7 million times! This shatters the previous record which was The Avengers Super Bowl spot, which had over 10 million views. I’ve watched it about 27 times already myself, and I think I’ll go ahead and watch it again. While I’m at it, you might as well do the same thing. It can’t hurt by adding a little more awesomeness to your day.
Do you think The Avengers has the ability to beat Avatar at the box office becoming the highest grossing film ever made? Here’s the official press release:
Marvel Studios announced today that its new trailer for this summer’s most highly anticipated movie, “Marvel’s The Avengers,” has been viewed over 13.7 million times in the first 24 hours of its debut, setting a new record for the most viewed trailer on iTunes (www.apple.com/trailers) and the iTunes Trailers app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The new trailer, unveiled Wednesday, February 29, exclusively on iTunes, gives fans an exciting look at “Marvel’s The Avengers”—an action adventure of a lifetime—based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since.
Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth – who portrays the muscular superhero Thor for the second time in the forthcoming ensemble movie, The Avengers – reveals the story of the film means he becomes less of an ‘odd one out’ and more thoughtful with his actions.
He said: “He was a petulant sort of kid at the beginning of ‘Thor’ and by the end of it hopefully you walk away thinking that he is matured and there was a grounded quality to him that there wasn’t before. He’s not quite the odd one out as much as he was in ‘Thor’.”
However, Chris Evans – who plays Captain America – believes his character becomes more ‘impersonal’ because he has been moved from the past to the present and does not know the world he has come to.
He added to Entertainment Weekly: “Who does he have in this world? Nobody. Rogers is kind of defined by his morals and values. In the 40s there were much more value on those things. Things are a little more impersonal these days.”

Marvel has released a new still from The Avengers that includes a rare sighting of none other than S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson.
More specifically, the image features Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) watching a monitor on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Agent Coulson has a quirky grin on his face, yet Thor looks deadly serious about whatever, or whoever, they’re fixated on.
The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleson. The unprecedented superhero big screen teamup from director Joss Whedon arrives in theaters in 3D and 2D on May 4.
A new still from the upcoming film, The Cabin in the Woods was just released! The still doesn’t reveal any new spoilers or plot details, but it is still worth checking out! The Cabin in the Woods hits North American theatres on April 13th, 2012.
