Tessa Thompson Joins “Men In Black” Spinoff

Following the success of Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth are looking to reteam on another big movie.

Thompson is in talks to join Hemsworth in Sony’s Men in Black spinoff, sources tell Variety. F. Gary Gray, who previously helmed Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious, is on board to direct.

The studio fast-tracked the project earlier this fall, setting Matt Holloway and Art Marcum to pen the script and dating a May 17, 2019, release.

The original movie followed Smith and Jones, who played agents of a secret organization, known as the Men in Black, and protected Earth from intergalactic bad guys. The first film was huge hit and produced two more sequels. (Source)

New “The Avengers: Infinity War” Trailer Released

Marvel has released a new trailer for the highly-anticipated blockbuster The Avengers: Infinity War. Infinity War is the beginning of the end for the first major story arc of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will show the mad titan Thanos (Josh Brolin), who first appeared in 2012’s The Avengers, attempting to complete the Infinity Gauntlet in order to take over the galaxy. Fighting back will be every Marvel hero we’ve seen so far, starting in 2008’s Iron Man and going all the way up through the yet-to-be-released Black Panther.

The Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars many Marvel fan favourites like Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Pratt, Mark Ruffalo, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen and Zoe Saldana among so many others. “Avengers: Infinity War” Release Date Shift

You won’t have to wait as long to see Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War in theaters in North America.

Marvel announced on Twitter the third Avengers film will now be released on April 27 as opposed to its original planned May 4 release date. Marvel Studios made the announcement via a Twitter exchange with Iron Man star Robert Downey, Jr.

Marvel Studios first tweeted out about the film debuting on May 4, when Downey, Jr. chimed in asking to see it earlier. Marvel Studios accommodated him — and the many fans hoping to see the film as soon as possible. Of course, this was naturally a planned announcement transformed into a clever marketing stunt that used one of the stars of the MCU as a voice for the people wanting to watch Infinity War early.

This lines the North American release of the film up with its planned international debut. That new release date is a week after the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-starring Rampage adaptation. It also further separates Infinity War’s release from other big May tentpole films, which include Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story. (Source)

Chris Is In Negotiations to Star in “Men in Black” Spinoff

Chris Hemsworth is in early negotiations to star in Sony’s self-styled spinoff of the sci-fi action-comedy franchise Men in Black.

F. Gary Gray, who directed last year’s Fate of the Furious, is due to helm the movie, which has a script by Iron Man writers Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The pic is slated for release on June 14, 2019.

Akin to how Jurassic World revived the Jurassic Park film series, Sony’s reboot is to feature new characters rather than Agents K and J, portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, respectively, and build on the contemporary sci-fi world in which they operated.

Sources say that the studio is hoping to round out a diverse ensemble cast and may be potentially eyeing the leads to be white male, a female of color and an older man. The story will be a global adventure.

Smith and Jones powered the first Men in Black film to $589 million at the global box office in 1997 and subsequently starred in two sequels — one in 2002 and one a decade later in 2012. The entire franchise has made more than $1.5 billion worldwide.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers, while Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer. (Source)

Chris and Liam Hemsworth Pass on “The Simpsons”

A producer for The Simpsons has revealed brothers Liam and Chris Hemsworth, plus Hugh Jackman, all turned down guest-starring roles on the sitcom. Al Jean recently revealed that the FOX animated series had approached the three Australian actors to voice a character for the series – but they all declined.

Indeed, they had already written a part for the Hemsworth brothers, making it more of a kick in the teeth.

“We tried to get the Hemsworth brothers but they passed,” he told News Corp. “We wrote a part for them, but they said no.”

“We also asked Hugh Jackman and he passed as well, so we tried.”

“Thor: Ragnarok” Deleted and Extended Scenes

Marvel Studios has released two extended and deleted scenes from the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok Blu-ray online. Both clips feature Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster.

The first video shows Grandmaster instructing Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) to find Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Grandmaster waves his hand to signify that Loki and Valkyrie need to leave, but neither of them seems to initially understand that. The rest of the scene plays out like a game of charades. Goldblum mimes different “universal symbols” to Topaz (Rachel House).

The second clip features the ruler of Sakaar getting annoyed by some type of alien bats that are swarming around as he makes The God of Thunder’s acquaintance.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on Digital HD on February 20, while the Blu-ray arriving in stores on March 6. Take a look at the clips below and head over to the gallery for the latest additions:
